The retail giant said it is planning to revamp more than 650 stores across the country. The 20 new stores will open later this year or early in 2027, Walmart said in an April 16 news release. The Arkansas-based retailer said the renovations and expansions are "intended to create jobs, help strengthen local economies, and make shopping faster and more convenient for our customers." In 2024, Walmart had announced plans to open more than 100 new stores through 2029. The latest announcement of new locations and remodels also comes after Walmart revealed a redesign of the company's Great Value private-label brand. Here's what we know so far.
