Victoria’s Secret doesn’t know what shoppers want, analysts say L Brands Inc.’s Victoria’s Secret is sticking with its plan to push “constructed” bras during the second half of the year, but analysts worry the lingerie chain is miscalculating shoppers’ interest in them. Bralettes, unlined undergarments popular with the millennial set that are less expensive than padded and push-up bras, have become ubiquitous, sold at retailers like American Eagle Outfitters Inc. AEO, -1.66% , Urban Outfitters Inc.’s URBN, -4.15% chains and other retailers. Earlier this year , the company laid out a plan to introduce more “constructed” bras in the second half of the year. On Thursday’s earnings call, Jan Singer, chief executive of Victoria’s Secret Lingerie, emphasized the importance of knowing the consumer and “strengthening the core of [the] business,” among other focal points going forward, according to a FactSet transcript of the call.
