China opening telecom market with move to license virtual operatorsIn a move aimed at opening up a market dominated by state-owned actors, China willlicense virtual telecoms to set up shop, including those with foreign investment.Such virtual operators would be able to lease and re-sell capacity from existing network owners, including China Mobile (CHL+1.2%), China Telecom (CHA+1.8%) and China Unicom (CHU+0.8%).The country has been slow to open up its telecom market, but says there will be no limit on the number of licenses to be handed out.See all stocks on the move »Now read:What Would You Pay For The Clear IoT Leader? »
