Oil prices down a third session on bets for a further rise in U.S. supplies, output Oil headed lower Tuesday, weighed down by the recent stock market rout, as expectations for further gains in U.S. crude supplies and production dragged prices to multiweek lows. March West Texas Intermediate crude CLH8, -0.61% fell 32 cents, or 0.5%, to $63.83 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. That contract closed at $64.15 Monday, its lowest finish since Jan. 22, according to FactSet data. Brent for April LCOJ8, -0.90% gave up 51 cents, or 0.8%, to $67.11 a barrel after ending Monday at $67.62, a roughly four-week low, on the ICE Futures Europe exchange. “Crude has been swept up in broader market movements and pressured lower by a flight from risk and a stronger dollar," Matt Smith, director of commodity research at ClipperData, told MarketWatch.
