Asian, European stocks tumble after Dow's worst day since 2011 Last Updated Feb 6, 2018 3:51 AM EST TOKYO -- Asian and European markets were rattled Tuesday by the miseries on Wall Street , with Japan's Nikkei 225 index briefly dipping more than 7 percent and markets in Europe tumbling at the open, but investors seemed to be taking the gyrations in stride. Minutes after the bell to signal the start of trading, the FTSE 100 index of leading British shares was down 2.5 percent at 7,151, while the CAC 40 in France slid 3 percent to 5,127. It was a similar story on Germany's DAX, which was 3 percent lower at 12,308. Investors around the world have taken fright at the prospect of a higher than anticipated increase in U.S. interest rates this year in the event rising wages stir inflation. The Tokyo benchmark bounced throughout the day, closing 4.7 percent lower at 21,610.24. All Asian regional bourses were battered a day after the Dow Jones industrial average suffered its worst percentage
