Summary Tableau has shown disappointing earnings performance. While free cash flow has continued to rise, much of the growth in net cash has been driven by deferred revenues. Free cash flow growth is significantly at risk, should revenues take a dip. I have changed my mind on Tableau. I would avoid this company under present conditions. In my previous article on Tableau (NYSE: DATA ), I argued that in spite of some views to the contrary, the company still has significant upside potential. However, recent performance has prompted me to revise my view somewhat. Tableau is a particularly attractive technology within the data science sector, as it offers the best of both worlds - with VizQL offering superior visualization technologies to traditional programs such as Python and R, while the architecture itself offers significant integration capabilities with these two programming languages.
