D.R. Horton shares jump on strong results, better guidance Shares of D.R. Horton Inc. DHI, +0.43% ticked up in pre-market trading Wednesday as the company reported double-digit increases in revenue and orders, and upped its guidance for the year. Net income in the quarter ending December 31, 2017, was $189.3 million, or 49 cents per diluted share, compared to $206.9 million, or 55 cents per diluted share, in the same period a year ago. The consensus among FactSet analysts was for EPS of 44 cents. Per-share earnings included a one-time charge of $108.7 million due to the tax law changes of 2017. Revenue for the quarter was $3.2 billion, versus $2.8 billion a year ago. Analysts had forecast revenues of $3.3 billion. Net sales were 16% higher, and closings were up 15%, compared to the prior year quarter. The company now sees a pre-tax profit margin of 11.8% to 12.0%, compared to earlier guidance of 11.5% to 11.7%, it said in a statement. Shares of the Texas-based builder are up 62.2%
