DryShips: Possible Equity Offerings?SummaryThere is no benefit for the existing shareholders to participate in a rights offering.The company stated that they have agreed not to conduct any equity offerings without the prior approval of the majority of its unaffiliated shareholders until after December 31, 2017.This means that they will conduct equity offerings with the approval of the shareholders. Therefore I expect share dilution in the future.The company’s history tells us that the CEO’s common share ownership is not a bullish sentiment.The share price will be subjected to enormous selling pressure during the SEC investigation and the proceeding class action lawsuit.
