Nano cap Heat Biologics (NASDAQ: HTBX ) rockets premarket on average volume in response to its announcement of successful results from a Phase 1b study assessing the combination of HS-110 and Bristol-Myers Squibb's (NYSE: BMY ) Opdivo (nivolumab) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The study met is safety endpoint by demonstrating no new toxicities compared to existing data on nivolumab alone. In addition, 33% of patients (n=5/15) experienced at least a 20% reduction in tumor size. Daniel Morgensztern, M.D., Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of Thoracic Oncology, Washington University School of Medicine says, “We are encouraged by the results from this Phase 1b trial evaluating the therapeutic vaccine, HS-110, combined with the checkpoint inhibitor, nivolumab, in patients with advanced NSCLC.
