KLA-Tencor's dividend increase is the largest in its history KLA-Tencor Corp. KLAC, +0.97% said Wednesday it raised its quarterly dividend by 27%, to 75 cents a share from 59 cents a share. The chip-equipment maker's new dividend will be payable June 1 to shareholders of record on May 15. Based on Tuesday's stock closing price of $103.62, the new annual dividend rate implies a dividend yield of 2.90%, compared with the payout yield on the VanEck Vectors Semiconductor ETF SMH, +0.21% of 1.40% and the implied yield on the S&P 500 SPX, -0.52% of 1.91%, according to FactSet. "The fundamentals of the semiconductor equipment market and KLA-Tencor's position within it have never been stronger," said Chief Executive Rick Wallace. "Today's dividend increase, the largest in our history, reflects the strength of KLA-Tencor's free cash flow generation and our commitment to enhancing stockholder value."
