European stocks stick to 2-year highs despite German orders disappointment European stocks rose Monday, with gains in German shares helping the broad market build on a more than two-year highs despite downbeat data from Europe’s largest economy. What are markets doing: The Stoxx Europe 600 index SXXP, +0.20% was up 0.2% to 398.19, led by the basic material and financial sectors. But tech, utility and consumer-goods shares were lower. The gauge on Friday finished at its highest since August 2015 , according to FactSet data, leading to last week's rise of 2.1%. Germany’s DAX 30 index DAX, +0.26% rose 0.4% to 13,369.85, moving around its highest in two months. France’s CAC 40 PX1, +0.32% picked up 0.3% to 5,487.66, also at its highest since early November. Spain’s IBEX 35 IBEX, +0.17% gained 0.3% to 10,438.30, and the U.K.’s FTSE 100 index UKX, -0.13% was fractionally higher at 7,726.96 after Friday’s close at a record high.
