Impinj's stock plunges as downbeat outlook, CFO departure prompts analyst downgrade Shares of Impinj Inc. PI, -41.69% plunged 33% toward a record low in premarket trade Friday, after the company's disappointing outlook and announcement of the chief financial officer's departure prompted a downgraded at RBC Capital. Analyst Mitch Steves cut his rating to sector perform, after being at outperform since he started covering Impinj in August 2016, and slashed the stock price target to $17 from $40. Late Thursday, Impinj, which makes retail ID tags and uses high-frequency waves to deliver information about the tagged items, bumped up its fourth-quarter revenue guidance, but said it expected "softness" in first-quarter endpoint IC volumes. And CFO Evan Fein, who has been with the company since 2000, will step down in March.
