The news at Seadrill Limited has been far from good, but shares of subsidiary Seadrill Partners were way up last month. What happened? This past month was a tough one for offshore rig companies. While drilling activity is starting to pick back up on land in North America, work offshore has yet to pick up. In the face of the backdrop, it's a little surprising to see that Seadrill Partners ( NYSE:SDLP ) saw gains of 17% in February while other rig comanies such as Ensco ( NYSE:ESV ) and Seadrill Partners' parent company Seadrill Limited ( NYSE:SDRL ) posted double digit losses.
