Summary Silver Wheaton (NYSE: SLW ) was on a tear from around this time last year till about the middle of August. Investors saw shares rise from $16 to $30 in that time, but then saw share drop precipitously to the current $19 range. There have been a couple of news items that have been plaguing the company since August, namely falling gold prices and the Canadian Revenue Agency, CRA, wanting to extract some money from the company. The CRA situation has been looming over the company for quite some time now and just on Monday the CEO publicly stated that he is willing to settle with the agency to remove this cloud of uncertainty hovering over his company. The tax dispute was brought onto the company about eighteen months ago and management believes it can settle the case for about $5M to 10M Canadian dollars .
