Vantiv to change name to Worldpay after deal Vantiv Inc. plans to change its name to Worldpay Inc. after closing its acquisition of U.K. payments-processor Worldpay Group PLC, the company said Monday. Cincinnati-based Vantiv reached a deal in August to acquire Worldpay Group for about 8 billion pounds ($10.77 billion) in cash and stock, one of the biggest deals in the fast-consolidating sector. The companies expect the transaction to close on Jan. 16, following respective shareholder votes and court approval. Worldpay's global and corporate headquarters will be in Cincinnati and its international headquarters will be in London. Upon closing the deal, the company's stock will trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "WP" and on the London Stock Exchange under "WPY." The combined company will be led by Charles Drucker, president and chief executive of Vantiv, and Philip Jansen, CEO of Worldpay. Both men will hold a co-CEO title.
