Port of Long Beach Executive Director Mario Cordero says the supply chain needs maritime infrastructure and a strong workforce. As the U.S. continues to feel the pain from supply chain disruptions, companies nationwide are stepping up their incentives to attract new truck drivers, including six-figure salaries and sign-on bonuses. H&M Intermodal Services, which transports containers to and from marine terminals, rail ramps and distribution centers across the Northeast, is offering truck drivers up to $5,000 per week , or $260,000 per year, along with a $3,000 sign-on bonus. Meanwhile, Sysco , the world's largest broadline food distributor, is offering salaries of up to $110,000 per year along with a $15,000 sign-on bonus.
