Aging Tesla Designs Still Have Spark “There is no “refreshed” Model X or Model S coming, only a series of minor ongoing changes.” That short sentence from Elon Musk touched off a storm of gloomy predictions from internet soothsayers. But the crisis is merely a perceived one. It’s simply not a big deal that Tesla does not have a replacement for the Model S or X on the drawing board. Still viable. “It’s like airplanes,” says Rebecca Lindland of rebeccadrives.com But we’re not there yet, and buying a Tesla is still a way to make a statement. So what’s going on here? Safety is one of the main things Tesla owners are concerned about, and the cars still scoop up all the stars in NHTSA ratings. IIHS scores are mostly good, too.
