DALLAS, Aug. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Alerian announced today that Williams Partners (NYSE: WPZ) is expected to be removed from the Alerian Midstream Energy Index (AMNA), Alerian MLP Infrastructure Index (AMZI), Alerian US Midstream Energy Index (AMUS), Alerian MLP Index (AMZ), Alerian MLP Equal Weight Index (AMZE), Alerian Natural Gas MLP Index (ANGI), and Alerian Large Cap MLP Index (AMLI) in a special rebalancing.Special rebalancings are triggered by corporate actions such as mergers, bankruptcies, and liquidations. Pending unitholder approval, WPZ will cease to trade due to its merger with the Williams Companies (NYSE: WMB). If approved, the rebalancing will take place one full trading day after the issuance of a press release indicating all needed merger votes have passed.Each index will be rebalanced in accordance with its existing methodology.
