Cowen dubs Zayo (NYSE: ZAYO ), T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS ), and Digital Realty (NYSE: DLR ) as its three best ideas following the Q3 earnings season. The firm expects these companies to rise at least 15% in the next 12 months. Cowen sees Zayo as a special situation with its meaningful upside potential driven by the possibility it will go private or be acquired. The firm buyer says a buyer could pay ~$35 and achieve a mid-teens return by simply levering up to ~6.25x and selling at a similar multiple to what it pays. If a buyer doesn't pop up, Cowen expects significant interest after the planned split into two public companies and that would suggest the stock is undervalued. Cowen favors T-Mobile regardless of whether the Sprint deal goes through since the company continues to outperform on both sub metrics and financials.
