The boycott against Target came in March after Black faith leaders called their congregations to do a "Target Fast" for 40 days for Lent , in hopes the company would reverse course on gutting their diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. And the fast wasn't the only call to boycott the company. In February, a national Target boycott in honor of Black History Month was led by Minnesota activists . And a Latino Freeze movement urges Latinos to stop spending money at Target and other major retailers that cut initiatives. Both are still ongoing boycotts, pushing people to change where they spend their money. While the company hasn't reversed course on the DEI initiatives it cut, the fast seems to have worked in stemming the company's foot traffic, according to reports from CNN Leaders of the boycotts believe that they are having the effect they want, pointing to dipping stock prices and data showing a decline of online and in-person activity at Target and other targeted comp [Read more]
