Monsanto fails to stop Arkansas ban on weed killerAn Arkansas judge late Fridaydismissed a Monsanto (MON-0.2%) lawsuit aiming to stop the state from blocking the use of the company's controversial dicamba weed killer.MON filed the lawsuit last year in an attempt to halt the state’s ban on sprayings of dicamba from Apr. 16 to Oct. 31.In the ruling, the circuit court judge cited a recent Arkansas Supreme Court decision that the state cannot be made a defendant in court.Dicamba, which also is sold by BASF (OTCQX:BASFY-0.3%) and DowDuPont (DWDP-0.3%), is meant to be used during the summer growing season on soybeans and cotton that MON engineered to resist the chemical.Click to subscribe to real-time analytics on BASFYNow read:DowDuPont: Sell-Off Has Created An Opportunity »
