Getty Getty Most families are missing out on a huge wealth creation opportunity. A recent report (download required) from UBS found that, among over 300 family offices surveyed, the average portfolio dedicated only 22% to private equity in 2018, despite outsized returns from this asset class in recent years. And venture returns have been outpacing public market gains with lower downside risk. According to Cambridge Associates, venture capital returns in Q2 2018 rose to a net IRR of 5.99%, up from 3.96% in the first quarter, while one-year performance soared to 17.18% from 8.16%.
