Deutsche Bank analyst Jeriel Ong upped his price target on shares of Apple Inc. to $285 from $270 late Wednesday, following the company's announcement of its second-generation iPhone SE. Though Ong isn't tweaking his model following the unveiling, he argued that the new phone could help offset June-quarter revenue pressures stemming from store closures and "help bridge the gap to the summer, where iPhones could resume a more normalized demand outlook as major Western economies consider a re-opening plan." He said that while the original iPhone SE may have only contributed to about 10% to 15% of 2016 unit sales, and similar volumes for the new SE could account for 8% to 10% of his current calendar year estimates, this new phone is launching into a very different environment.
