The S&P 500 ( ^GSPC ) and the Dow Jones Industrial Average ( ^DJI ) fell 0.2% and 0.3%, respectively, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite ( ^IXIC ) shed 0.5%, after closing sharply lower Friday.
