Fidelty Southern Gets Acquired: I'm Taking Profits Summary Ameris Bancorp is acquiring Fidelity Southern for ~$28/share. That's a solid premium to the $21.50 area it traded at prior to the deal announcement. Ameris is an aggressive growth bank; I prefer more conservative operations. There is no merger premium left in Fidelity Southern's stock. Thus, unless you want to hold Ameris stock, it makes sense to take your gains and sell Fidelity Southern here. I was a buyer of Atlanta area bank LION Seeking Alpha After two and a half years holding LION stock, however, my ownership has come to an end. That's because another larger regional Georgia-area bank, ABCB The Acquisition On December 17th, Ameris announced So, it'd be fair to say that Ameris swooped in and bought LION on the cheap, right?
