"The president wanted to make sure that no one can go without tests. We will once again up our program to make sure Americans have access to a test," Politico reported, quoting Becerra as saying at a Washington pharmacy where he received his COVID and flu shots. More details about the program will be made available, along with plans to get the program restarted "as quickly as possible." Becerra added. The federal program restarted last December in partnership with the U.S. Postal Service, allowing U.S. households to order a total of four at-home COVID tests for free at the CovidTests.gov website. However, plans to preserve the remaining COVID test kits and a decline in hospitalizations prompted the officials to pause the program in June.
