While Aurora Cannabis ( ACB ) and Canopy Growth ( CGC ) added ~16% and ~6%, respectively, their peers, including Tilray Brands ( TLRY ) and SNDL ( SNDL ), have recorded modest gains. After the closing bell on Thursday, Alberta-based Aurora ( ACB ) reported C$63.4M in net revenue for its Q2 FY24, marking a ~30% YoY growth. The company swung to C$3.4M of positive adjusted EBITDA compared to a loss of C$6.2M in the prior-year period, driven by its high-margin medical cannabis segment, which added C$43.8M to the topline with a ~42% YoY rise. Meanwhile, Ontario-based Canopy ( CGC ) added C$69.6M in net revenue for its Q2 FY24, despite a ~21% YoY decline as its Canadian cannabis segment contracted ~26% YoY, recording C$39.0M in net revenue. While its net loss rose ~6% YoY to C$324.8M, operating loss from continuing operations fell ~95% YoY to C$7.0M as the company reduced C$54M in costs and its consolidated gross margin improved to 34% from (1%) in Q2 FY23.
