Marking the start of construction, a groundbreaking ceremony was held at the site of the new facility at 206 Maria Hall Drive in Danville. The 96-bed hospital, named ‘Geisinger Behavioral Health Center Danville', will offer care for behavioural health disorders, including depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and psychosis. Set to open in spring 2025, the facility will provide inpatient, intensive outpatient and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) treatment programmes for paediatric, adolescent, and adult patients. This project is aimed at meeting the increasing demand for accessible behavioural health services in the central Pennsylvania region. It is in line with Geisinger's goal to cater to more than 1.2 million people in 45 Pennsylvania counties across its service area.
