Aegon Beats Capital Generation Views, Raises Dividend [MarketWatch]

The Dutch insurer and asset-manager company on Friday posted a net result of zero, compared with a loss of 954 million euros ($1.03 billion) the same period a year ago. Advertisement Operating result fell 32% to EUR681 million, due to the impact of previously executed management actions and one-time benefits in the prior year. The company added that operating capital generation rose 16% to EUR660 million, and to EUR1.28 billion for the full-year, beating the company's guidance of EUR1.0 billion. The board has declared a dividend of EUR0.30 a share, up 30% from 2022 levels. Its Solvency II ratio--a measure of balance-sheet strength--stood at 193%, compared with 202% as of June 30. "The second half of 2023 saw Aegon maintain commercial momentum, driven by the strong performance of our US business, Transamerica, as well as our UK workplace business and our joint venture in Brazil," the company said.
