As showers cleared in the late morning, professional crews and neighbors worked to clear trees that fell onto homes along and near Broadway Street, where multiple buildings and houses sustained severe damage, including collapsed roofs. One of the damaged structures was First Congregational Church, located at the corner of Broadway and Allen streets. Half of the church's roof caved in just two days before a planned rededication ceremony for its piano. “Unfortunately the church was in its path,” according to a Facebook post from the church . “While we are still assessing the damage it appears to have struck the office side of the building, but missed the sanctuary (including the Steinway piano).” Church officials said only one person was inside the building at the time of the storm and was not injured. The church's parsonage also appeared to be undamaged, and no one was home at the time, according to the post. Elsewhere in the city, downed trees and power lines littered streets
