Summary AK Steel ( AKS ) is down 13.8% this year and roughly the same over the past 6 months. Last month I wrote that the company was best to be avoided . At this point, I see some potential since industrial stocks have overreacted over the past few weeks while leading economic indicators came in a bit stronger than expected. I am buying a small position to benefit from what seems to be a very interesting risk/reward opportunity. Source: AK Steel Timing Matters Before I go into any details, I want to discuss the bigger 'technical' picture. AK Steel has traded within the $1.50-$11.50 range since 2011. This time period includes everything from a commodity crash (2014 and 2015) to a global synchronized recovery like we saw after 2016. And still, the stock has made it above $9 just two times and both times it was followed by a sudden decline.
