Allegiant Travel Company ( ALGT announced that it has received the U.S. antitrust clearance in relation to its prior announced acquisition deal with Sun Country Airlines ( SNCY Winning the antitrust clearance marks a major step toward the completion of the deal. Under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, both Allegiant and Sun Country announced the early termination of the waiting period for Allegiant's proposed acquisition of Sun Country. The deal still remains subject to other customary closing conditions, which include approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation of an interim exemption application and the approval of the shareholders of each of Allegiant and Sun Country.
