Sion will succeed Henri Poupart-Lafarge, who announced in May his decision not to seek a new term as CEO. Poupart-Lafarge has held the position since February 2016 and will continue in his current role until the transition. "The Board of Directors conducted an extensive search process over the past several months, and we believe that Mr. Martin Sion has the experience required to lead Alstom," said Philippe Petitcolin, Chairman of Alstom's Board of Directors. The appointment follows the recommendation of the company's Nominations and Remuneration Committee. The Board also approved Sion's compensation package components, with details available on the company's website.
