Product launches and higher prices bolstered sales for the company by 4.9% to a record high while cost cuts and organic growth raised profitability to $1.58 per share from $0.90 per share in the same quarter last year. Over the past year, Autoliv ( ALV ) lowered its headcount by more than 5%. The company's operating margin widened to 7.4% from 5.1%. Operating cash flow improved by $168M and free cash flow improved by $171M. “I am particularly pleased with our leverage ratio of 1.3x, which declined significantly compared to a year ago, despite returning $0.7B to shareholders and investing in footprint optimization and growth. To support future growth, we are currently investing in increased capacity in Vietnam, China, and India,” CEO Mikael Bratt said. For 2024, Autoliv ( ALV ) expects organic sales growth of ~5% and an adjusted operating margin of ~10.5%. Capex net of sales is expected to be ~5.5%.
