I think the overall pessimism in the tech sector is pressuring AMD stock. This is an external event, and I see it as mainly irrational in the semiconductor industry. AMD's data center strength stood out in Q4: $5.38B reported vs $4.97B expected, up 24% sequentially, with clear upside catalysts in H2 2026 (Helios and Venice). Q1 implies a 5% sequential revenue decline, and the 55% non-GAAP gross margin represents a 2ppt drop. Is that enough to warrant a post-earnings selloff? No, in my view. It could get worse before it gets better in the back half of the year. In the meantime, I wouldn't be surprised to see AMD stock's price testing the $150s if the pessimism in tech persists.
