The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 260.31 points, or 0.5%, to 49,501.30. The Nasdaq composite fell 350.61 points, or 1.5%, to 22,904.58. The Russell 2000 index of smaller companies fell 23.95 points, or 0.9%, to 2,624.55. For the week: The S&P 500 is down 56.31 points, or 0.8%. The Dow is up 608.83 points, or 1.2%.
