AMD stock heads for best day in two years after predicting sales jump ‘that would make Evel Knievel nervous’ Advanced Micro Devices Inc. shares were on track for their best day in two years Wednesday after the chip maker forecast a strong full-year outlook with much of the momentum coming in the second half of the year. AMD shares AMD, +15.74% rallied nearly 16% in Wednesday morning trading, touching an intraday high of $22.49, after the company’s full-year outlook made up for weakness in its holiday quarter sales and first-quarter forecast late Tuesday. The stock is on track for its largest one-day percentage gain since Feb. 1, 2017, when it surged 16.3%, and its highest close since Dec. 3, 2018, when it finished at $23.71, according to Dow Jones data.
