AMD target hiked at Instinet on optimism over new GPU product launches Instinet analyst David Wong upped his price target on Advanced Micro Devices Inc. shares AMD, -0.44% to $37 from $33 on Tuesday, reflecting his increased optimism about new Ryzen desktop CPUs and APUs as well as new Navi GPUs. "We think that the new CPUs and APUs will help AMD sustain its desktop processor market share momentum, driving unit market share from about 17% in the March-2019 quarter to 20% or better by the December-2019 quarter," Wong wrote. "We expect that AMD will be able to hold its desktop processor ASP at close to $90, or higher, through 2019, up from close to $50 prior to 2017." He has growing confidence in the company's ability to continue gaining share due to a recent track record of strong execution. AMD shares are off 0.8% in premarket trading Tuesday, though they've gained 74% so far this year as the S&P 500 SPX, -0.30% has climbed 19%.
