Pot Without Plants Is Goal of New Cannabis Fermentation Venture © Bloomberg Amyris Inc. already works with getically modified yeast that excrete digner molecul to make sweeters and skin-care products. Now it plans to use that fermtation technology to convert sugarcane syrup into the active ingredits found in marijuana, the California-based company said in a statemt Tuday. Those ingredits can be used in consumer products ranging from beverag to skin creams and deodorant. Load Error The project’s initial focus is to make cannabidiol, or CBD, the molecule used to treat medical conditions such as anxiety and sleeplsns.
