Related news Humana ( HUM ) cruised past Wall Street earnings estimates on the strength of its Medicare Advantage success, sending Humana stock surging to a buy point and a record high. Health insurers soared, fueled by Tuesday's election results. UnitedHealth ( UNH ), Anthem ( ANTM ), Cigna ( CI ) and soon-to-be managed care giant CVS Health ( CVS ) moved into buy zones, at least intraday. Humana earnings leapt 35% to $4.58 per share, 29 cents ahead of the analyst consensus, according to Zacks Investment Research. Revenue rose 7% to $14.2 billion, clearing estimates of $13.9 billion. Its the fourth straight quarter of glacial acceleration in top-line growth. Humana raised full-year EPS guidance to about $14.40, up from $14.15. The consensus, before the Q3 report, had been $14.18. "We are expecting strong individual Medicare Advantage growth in 2019," CEO Bruce Broussard said. Medicare Advantage membership rose 252,800, or 7.7%, from a year ago to 3.54 million.
