The corporation is said to have stopped talking to the last bidders in December, halting an auction process that had been going on for months and attracted interest from many investment groups. TDR Capital, the owner of Asda, Bain Capital's special circumstances fund, Apollo Global Management, KKR, and Centurium Capital were all interested. Coca Cola bought Costa Coffee in 2018 for roughly $5.1 billion to get a bigger share of the global coffee market and compete with well-known brands like Starbucks and Nestle. But since the prices are lower than expected, Coca Cola is happy to keep the chain for now.
