U.S. lawmakers have proposed new export controls aimed at restricting ASML Holding's sales and servicing of chipmaking equipment to Chinese semiconductor producers. The proposal targets ASML's extreme ultraviolet lithography tools, where the company currently has an effective monopoly in sub-7nm production capacity. At the same time, SK Hynix has placed record multi billion euro orders, and Samsung is committing billions to secure ASML tool capacity through at least 2027. For investors tracking ENXTAM:ASML, the stock trades at around €1,161.0 and has returned 17.7% year to date and 113.0% over the past year.
