The patent covers the drug substance of EMP-01 and will provide exclusivity through 2043. The patent identifies a highly crystalline thermodynamically stable HCl salt form of (R)-MDMA with high aqueous solubility and low hygroscopicity. The patent is poised to support the company's strategy to develop innovative, differentiated therapies for addressing significant mental health needs. EMP-01 is currently in clinical development for social anxiety disorder, with exploratory Phase 2a underway.
