Italian minister says no new decision on Atlantia motorway concession MILAN, Jan 28 (Reuters) - The Italian government has not changed its stance on Atlantia’s motorway concession and is still awaiting technical assessments, a minister said following regional elections that saw big losses for the main party pushing for the concession to be revoked. “There is nothing new,” Transport Minister Paola De Micheli told Rai radio in an interview on Tuesday. “We are waiting for assessments of a technical nature.” Earlier the daily Il Messaggero said losses in Sunday’s elections suffered by the co-governing 5 Star Movement meant pressure to scrap the license had lessened because the other main ruling party, the centre-left Democratic Party, was more cautious about revoking the licence. Atlantia’s lucrative motorway concession has been under threat since a bridge operated by its tollway unit Autostrade per l’Italia collapsed in 2018, killing 43 people.
