Securities and Exchange Commission made on Friday. The clinical-stage biotechnology company entered into a stalking-horse asset-purchase agreement with Healios where it will sell all of its assets, including their contracts, personal property, inventory, and intellectual property, among others. Advertisement A stalking-horse sale process is an agreement to purchase some or all assets of an insolvent company conditional on the company not receiving any better offers. Athersys said it will receive $2 million in the form of a credit bid On Friday, Athersys and its subsidiaries filed voluntary petitions for relief under Chapter 11 if the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in the Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
