In a recent Seeking Alpha readers poll, 35.7% of respondents chose dividend stocks as their preferred safe haven, with 22.2% naming gold/precious metals, 18.8% selecting cash, and 14.8% opting for U.S. Treasuries. The remaining respondents chose either corporate bonds or Quick Insights Analysts favor quality dividend-growth stocks, gold/precious metals, cash, and short-term U.S. Treasuries as effective safe havens during heightened uncertainty. Cash enables opportunistic buying after sharp selloffs, and short-term Treasuries provide yield and potential capital gains when interest rates fall, helping shield portfolios from equity downturns. Gold and select financials are resilient; specific ETFs like Themes Gold Miners ETF (AUMI) and Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight ETF (RSP) are recommended for their defensive characteristics.
