Oracle ( ORCL ) shares sank 10.83% on Dec. 11 and slipped another 4.66% on Dec. 12, extending a sharp selloff that followed the company's latest earnings report. The weakness, combined with Broadcom's ( AVGO pullback despite delivering a solid quarter, has added to growing concerns of an AI bubble. Oracle, the 48-year-old cloud and database software company, reported quarterly results on Dec. 10 that fell short of analyst revenue expectations and offered little clarity on the pace at which heavy AI investments will translate into profits. The stock has dropped more than 40% from its September peak. On Dec. 10, Oracle posted fiscal Q2 revenue that fell short of Wall Street expectations, even as demand for its artificial intelligence infrastructure continued to surge. The database software maker reported adjusted earnings of $2.26 a share, above the $1.64 consensus estimate, while revenue came in at $16.06 billion, below analysts' expectations of $16.21 billion.
