Only ten days after Anthropic claimed Mythos, one of the company's latest AI models, had found “thousands of high-severity vulnerabilities, including some in every major operating system and web browser,” the U.S. Government wants to make good with CEO Dario Amodei. If you recall, Anthropic and the Department of Defense are still in the middle of a lawsuit after the DoD called the A.I. company a “supply chain threat,” and are still barring them from DoD contracts. The irony here is that after the Claude Mythos Preview was leaked, announced, and then ultimately shared with big tech companies like Apple, Microsoft, Google, and chip-makers Nvidia and Broadcom, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Fed Chair Jay Powell wanted in, according to reporting from the New York Times.
