AWF is rated as a Buy by Seeking Alpha analysts, but I disagree with this characterization. The fund has a high expense ratio and has delivered weak risk-adjusted performance historically relative to passive products. AWF trades at a moderate discount to NAV, which is smaller than its average historical discount over the past 10 years. I rate AWF a Sell and prefer to get exposure to high yield credits through passive low fee products with a focus on higher quality parts of the high yield market. The AllianceBernstein Global High Income Fund ( NYSE: AWF ) is a closed-end fund ("CEF") which seeks to generate high levels of current income. The fund's secondary objective is capital appreciation. AWF is actively managed and employs a global multi-sector approach which seeks to adjust risk exposures based on how well investors are being compensated for different parts of the fixed income market.
