Financial stocks were enjoying a broad rally Tuesday, as the easing of coronavirus-related lockdowns in some states helped provided a boost to the sector and the broader stock market. The SPDR Financial Select Sector ETF rallied 2.4% in premarket trading, with only 2 of its 66 components trading lower. At the same time, the futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 383 points, or 1.6%, with 28 of 30 components gaining ground. Among the Dow's financial components, shares of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. rose 3.0%, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. advanced 2.2% and American Express Co. climbed 1.8%. The implied price gains of the Dow's financial components would add about a combined 57 points to the Dow's price.
